Youth fencing is growing worldwide at a remarkable rate, and an increasing number of countries are not only producing new world class fencers, but also winning international medals. Champions and finalists are emerging from all zonal regions and countries, in addition to the traditional leaders in fencing.

The competition this year is organized under the auspices of the FIE by the French Fencing Federation and the Organising Committee of the Bourges 2016 World Fencing Championship Cadet/Junior.

It will take place on two sites in Bourges: the pool rounds and elimination up to the quarter-finals will take place at the CREPS sports centre, while the semi-finals and finals will take place at the Palais des Sports du Prado.
